Recertify with Top Instructors—in a Course Designed for Dentists

It's often not enough to know how to respond to an adult in a medical crisis. Children can present a special challenge because their initial symptoms of distress may mirror nervous behavior. In addition, you'll likely be working from an incomplete medical history that may not have details about allergies or other key conditions.

DOCS Education's 1-day PALS Recertification course will keep you up-to-date with the newest developments in pediatric emergency response procedures—in addition to meeting your recertification needs.

Highly qualified and experienced instructors lead this hands-on pediatric course. You'll gain practical experience (using patient simulators) to prepare you to respond to a real-life emergency by utilizing equipment common to most dental offices.

The course highlights include how to quickly determine the right medication doses for children.

  • Why should I bring my team?

"I brought some of the team with me, including two hygienists and our assistant manager—all of whom are extremely reluctant to try new things. I sat at lunch today listening with amazement as they told me what we need to do to implement this in our practice! Your enthusiasm is infectious, and I will be sending the rest of the team to this course!" - Karen Harriman, DDS

DOCS Education considers the dental team a vital part of good patient care and urges every dentist to bring at least one staff member to courses. States differ in their sedation regulations. Visit SedationRegulations.com to learn more.

  • Faculty

    John Bovia

John Bovia has 30 years of experience in emergency medical services dating back to the US military. He was one of the first paramedics to be licensed in the state of Michigan in the late seventies.

John is the co-founder of Life Support Services, Inc. and has been recognized over those years as an outstanding instructor for the American Heart Association (AHA) having trained over 200,000 health care providers including nurses, EMTs, physicians and dentists.

At this time, he instructs the ACLS course for DOCS Education while running one of the largest training centers for the AHA to train health care providers and instruct other trainers on the topic of resuscitation.

  • Insurance
