Emergency Medicine Made Clear (21 CEU)

Watch instructor John Bovia as he discusses his approach to Dental Advanced Life Support (DALS®) education.

Your ACLS, medical, and sedation emergency training should be stressless and hands-on, designed for dentists, not hospital code teams. Many critical medical conditions can arise that require immediate attention. DALS® provides comprehensive, practical, and hands-on training in identifying and addressing emergencies related to heart disease, diabetes, dental emergencies, hypoglycemia, anaphylaxis, hypersensitivity, hypertension, and many other critical health conditions.

Nationally-recognized instructor, John Bovia, has over 30 years of medical emergency training and experience. Graduates of this course will be able to safely and confidently respond to cardiac and medical emergencies both inside and outside the dental office should they ever occur.

If you have been considering attending “OSD” you’ll agree it just makes good sense to take an DALS®/ACLS course designed for dentists; especially due to America growing population with heart disease, diabetes, and other health problems discussed in DOCS “DALS®/ACLS.” After investigating the types of cardiac emergencies taught in “typical” ACLS programs, it is apparent about 90% of the situations are not applicable to the general dentistry practice. This is evident by the nearly 50% failure rate of dentists when testing for ACLS certification without taking a dental-friendly course.

During the two DOCS seminar dates of your choosing you will be able to participate in profound educational experiences that are fun and enjoyable for you and your entire team, taught by the best, most experienced ACLS and sedation dentistry experts in the United States. Indeed, no one else has trained as many successful ACLS-certified sedation dentists as DOCS. And your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Making Sedation Safer for Children (16 CEU)

Much like DALS®, DOCS Education’s PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) course includes all of the training covered in hospital PALS courses but has the profound added benefit of being customized for dentistry. Dentists learn how to run a MEGACODE emergency in a dental office, not in a hospital.

The focus of PALS is on pediatric assessment and recognition of systems in distress before the heart stops beating, including airway obstruction, allergic reactions, respiratory insufficiency, and hypoxemia. For kids, most emergencies begin first with respiratory distress, which then leads to cardiac arrest. It’s different for adults, making PALS training invaluable for any dentist who treats children.
