| Day Two & Three – PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) |
| Be prepared to handle a pediatric medical emergency in your office by attending DOCS Education’s comprehensive PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) course—specifically designed for dentistry. The extensive use of hands-on simulation training and instruction on Broselow® Pediatric Emergency Tape prepares dentists to quickly and effectively handle a pediatric emergency should one ever occur. Broselow® Pediatric Tape removes the guesswork from dosing and facilitates a fast emergency response. It is a quick and accurate way to measure a child by height, providing a calculated estimate on a child’s weight which includes pre-calculated emergency medication dosing for that given weight. Utilizing the Tape is a critical timesaver because different weights require different dosing and a child’s weight constantly changes. |

| Treatment and protocols always start with an emphasis on history: dental, family, medical, social, etc. The problem with children is that they are history in motion. Their history is developing moment by moment as they go through their formative years. They haven’t been labeled yet with certain allergies or sensitivities because they haven’t experienced them yet. |
| PALS teaches you how to recognize the first symptoms of allergies and altered consciousness in children, paying special attention to behavior. The earliest indicators of distress can often be misinterpreted for nervousness or agitation. DOCS Education’s course is unique because the instructors are active in the field. They’re not only experts—they regularly respond to emergency scenarios taught in the course. |
