* When the intent is Anxiolysis only, a permit is not required.
Permit Renewal Requirements (Oral and IV): Twenty (20) hours every two (2) years Board- approved. DOCS course(s) approved for renewal.

New Jersey Administrative Code Title 13, Chapter 30, §13:30-8.2(d) requires a dentist to complete a board approved 60 hours of didactic instruction, management of at least twenty (20) live patients, ACLS, and obtain a Parenteral Conscious Sedation permit, before administering Parenteral Conscious Sedation to their adult patients.
Although requirements for IV Moderate Sedation permitting/certification is nearly standardized among the states, each state has differences that are important for complete compliance.
