Live Your Adventure

No mannequin he, this intrepid young lad found his way into the display window of an Eddie Bauer mall store and seemed overjoyed at his feat. We don’t know if he was inspired by the “Live Your Adventure” window theme, or if he is simply a natural-born explorer.

Young people with big dreams and a love of the outdoors can achieve wondrous things. On May 22, 2010, Jordan Romero, 13, became the youngest person to reach the summit of Mount Everest. At 15, he became the youngest person to climb to the top of the tallest mountain on EACH of the seven continents.

According to reports, Romero caught the climbing bug when he saw a mural in the hallway of his school featuring the world’s tallest peaks.

Who knows which heights this photo’s young explorer might reach one day if he keeps on searching and smiling?

Whether in Everest, Kansas – named for Colonel Aaron S. Everest, a railroad attorney and state senator, or 29,029 feet above sea level atop Mount Everest, professional WBIS photographers span the globe in search of radiant, life-affirming smiles.
