At DOCS Education’s continuing education seminar in Atlanta last weekend, Dr. Jean-Claude Kharmouche won the giveaway all the Oral Sedation Dentistry attendees were gunning for—two tickets to the SEC Championship Game at the Georgia dome on December 1.

Kharmouch, a periodontist from Sterling, VA, watched the Alabama Crimson Tide defeat the Georgia Bulldogs 32-28 on Saturday. In the final seconds of the game, the Bulldogs had a chance to win but made a split-second decision to catch a tipped pass short of the goal line or out of bounds line and ran out of time.

Each dentist that attended DOCS Education’s 3-day Oral Sedation Dentistry course in Atlanta on Nov. 30 to Dec. 2 had a chance to win the tickets. Kharmouch’s name was drawn the evening of Nov. 30 to attend the SEC Championship game the following day.

The Alabama Crimson Tide will face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the 2013 Discover BCS National Championship Game on Monday, January 7, 2013, at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, FL. Unfortunately for the Georgia Bulldogs, some critics state that the team has blown their biggest chance in more than three decades to finally make it to national championships.

Alabama head football coach Nick Saban expressed his enthusiasm to participate in the upcoming BCS National Championship game against Notre Dame: "We are very excited about coming to South Florida and I congratulate Notre Dame and Coach Kelly and his players on an undefeated season and their number one ranking. They are a fantastic team and it's always a special occasion to play against Notre Dame, and especially for the national championship."

Alabama (12-1 overall) and Notre Dame (12-0) have met six times in their storied histories, but will be meeting for the first time since 1987. Notre Dame owns a 5-1-0 series lead over the Crimson Tide with two of the games taking place in the postseason.
