Course Description:

While the transmission of pathogenic microorganisms in the oral healthcare setting is rare, healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) do present a potential hazard to oral healthcare workers and patients alike. To prevent or minimize HAIs, oral healthcare facilities are mandated to develop a written infection control/exposure control protocol that extends to all aspects of the clinical process.

In this timely and vital course presented by Dr. Geza Terezhalmy, participants will be introduced to evidence-based information that will facilitate compliance with, and the implementation of, infection control rules and recommendations made by federal, state, and local agencies and professional organizations.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, practitioners will be able to understand the concept of standard precautions, develop an infection control/exposure control protocol appropriate for their particular healthcare setting, and implement essential elements of the protocol for their practice.
