More children are coming to our practices with more cavities than ever before.

Parents are juggling jobs, kids, schoolwork, Covid concerns—they're stressed. The last thing they want to hear is that their child needs to come in for multiple appointments. On top of that, kids come to your office tired from a full day at school and not happy about being at the dentist.

Something needs to change. Learn how to integrate “one visit” oral sedation protocols into your practice and make the dental experience pain-and-anxiety-free for the child, the parents, and you.

NEWS: DOCS Education has created an Interactive (((Live))) Streaming program for Safe & Effective Pediatric Sedation Dentistry to take place on May 21, 2021. Learn how to integrate "one visit" oral sedation protocols into your practice from the safety and comfort of your home.

DOCS Education's world-class dental faculty will provide you and your team with superior Pediatric Oral Sedation Dentistry training through the innovative DOCS Education Interactive (((Live))) Streaming Program.

You will earn a total of 16 CE hours.

Please Note: This (((LIVE))) Streaming course, when added to our 1-day Live APAM (Advanced Pediatric Airway Management with human simulators) and PALS course, will fulfill the 25CE hours required for permit or certification in many states. For more information on your state requirements and to learn more, contact a course advisor at (855) 227-6505.

The Game Changer in Pediatric Dentistry

Change the way you treat pediatric patients using minimal conscious sedation with an orally administered sedative and amnesic (no memory) drug with N2O analgesia.

Transform multiple pediatric appointments and difficult cases into a single "no memory" appointment.

What makes this Interactive (((Live))) Streaming course better than other pediatric sedation courses?

  1. Some courses give you a shopping list of drug options without a best in practice direction. Safe & Effective Pediatric Sedation Dentistry won’t overwhelm you with outdated protocols, teaching you proven protocols that are the safest and most effective in pediatric dentistry.
  2. The course is taught by renowned practicing pediatric dentists and physicians: Roger Sanger, DDS, MS (pediatric dentist), and Leslie Fang, MD, Ph.D. (internist and nephrologist).
  3. Instruction is focused on clinically relevant information that you can put to use immediately in your practice.
  4. Real-time questions, live polls, and interaction with instructors make the experience high-touch.

Objectives

Upon completion of this competency course in minimal pediatric sedation, the dentist will:

  • Learn the single best protocol, step by step, for safe pediatric sedation—a virtual, no memory appointment.
  • Discover, using real case studies, how to correctly diagnose and create a treatment plan using caries risk management in children.
  • Identify the pharmacological effects of sedation drugs and understand the sedation/general anesthesia continuum.
  • Develop the valuable communication skills for dealing with nervous parents and guardians.
  • Understand the importance of monitoring pediatric patients within the standard of care doctrine.
  • Six scenarios practiced on the high-fidelity human simulators that have direct application for pediatric dentists who sedate children in their office.

Include Your Team!

Successful implementation of new skills depends not just on an intelligent doctor—but an intelligent team. Provide your team with the confidence, skills, and preparation to ensure pediatric sedation is implemented safely and efficiently in your practice.

What You'll Learn

In this 1-day (((live))) streaming course with an online pre-course, you will develop a skill set that will allow you to safely and confidently use oral sedation on pediatric patients. Clinically tested over 30 years, these “no memory, no opioid” protocols have unprecedented safety, outstanding results, and no unnecessary complexity.

You will engage in the study of the continuum of pediatric sedation dentistry: from case selection to the science of sedation to safety to implementation.

The course divided into the following components: 50% (((LIVE))) streaming lectures, 45% online video content to be viewed prior to the live course start dates, and 5% office hours with DOCS Faculty to review pre-course material.
