In this information-packed course presented by Dr. Steve Yun, MD, an anesthesiologist and medical consultant for DOCS Education, you’ll learn the significance of a comprehensive pre-sedation evaluation for optimal patient care and safety.

Dr. Yun will discuss the importance of reviewing the patient’s physical assessment and health history, as well as medical and behavioral disorders in case selection criteria. He’ll share the guidelines and risk factors for accepting and treating sedation patients with respiratory factors, psychiatric conditions, hypertension, cardiac conditions, and more.

The Airway Management in Sedated Patients program is designed to meet the regulations* for enteral sedation permit qualifying, as well as all sedation permit (enteral and parenteral) recertification set by the Missouri Dental Board. It’s intended for dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, and physicians, as well as Missouri dentists who bring in a nurse anesthetist. This course features 8 online video modules and a self-study instructional manual. After the full course completion and a passing score of 75% or above on proctored tests, you’ll earn 15 CE credits.
