Nitrous oxide (N2O) is the most common inhalation anesthetic used in dentistry and has been administered safely in dental offices since the mid-1800s. This course acts as a comprehensive look at N2O Administration and covers the knowledge necessary to delivery safe and effective sedation to your adult and pediatric patients. It is worth 1 CE.

1 CE hour

According to statistics, during your dental career, you will experience two or more medical emergencies in your practice. During this 90-minute course, Dr. Jerry Wellbrock will discuss how to handle medical emergencies in your practice. He will share the techniques used to sustain the patient’s life, along with what it felt like to be in charge of a medical emergency coordinated with local EMS. This course is worth 1.5 CE.

1.5 CE hours

Laryngospasm is a sudden laryngeal and glottic contracture that makes it difficult for a patient to speak or breathe. During this 90-minute presentation, Allan Schwartz, DDS, CRNA and Sedation Consultant, will thoroughly review the anatomy of the airway and the protective mechanisms the human body has in place to safeguard the airway. After a triggering episode, the vocal cords can strongly spasm, and can partially or completely close off any efforts of inspiration and expiration. This course is worth 1.5 CE.

1.5 CE hours

More emergencies happen in dental offices related to the administration of local anesthesia than those that accompany oral or IV sedation. In this course, Dr. Anthony Feck dives deep into the different types of local anesthetics and the drug interactions between local anesthetics, vasoconstrictors, and sedative drugs, giving you a comprehensive top-down look of what you must consider and account for in order to treat safely. This course is worth 1 CE.
