1.5 CE hours

Sedation dentistry methodology and protocols for children are very different than for adults. Therefore, sedation management depends on a thorough appreciation and understanding of the anatomical, physiologic, and pharmacologic differences between the varying ages and rates of growth. This one hour CE course focuses on the anatomy and physiology of children 6 years to puberty, tracing the journey of Midazolam and how it affects different parts of the body.

Learn to offer sedation care to those aged 13 to 18 with this course, which stresses the unique physiological and psychological needs of teenagers. This course is taught by a leading pediatric dentist who uses a lecture and discussion format.

7 CE hours

Learn the significance of case evaluation and selection when sedating pediatric dental patients. Presented by Drs. Roger Sanger, DDS, MS, and Dr. Steve Yun, MD. You’ll learn which pediatric patients can be sedated in the dental office and when it’s wise to refer out. Dr. Yun will also share the guidelines and risk factors for accepting sedation patients with upper respiratory infections (URIs). This course is worth 1 CE hour.

It is essential to understand the protocol and formulation of Midazolam is essential when treating pediatric sedation patients. Presented by Dr. Steve Yun, a board-certified anesthesiologist, and Dr. Roger Sanger, DDS, this course will discuss the history and formulation of midazolam, its advantages and disadvantages for pediatric patients, key elements to consider when selecting patients, and additional drugs that can be used safely in conjunction. It is worth 1.75 CE hours.
