In this course, Dr. Stanley Malamed shares beneficial information on the injection armamentarium and comprehensive patient evaluation, as well as relevant anatomy and all injection techniques. You will learn about the localized and systemic complications that can arise with local anesthesia, and how to prevent and manage them. The course will cover the facts and fiction of local anesthesia and take an in-depth look at the future of pain control in dentistry.

Meharry Medical College in joint providership with the Washington AGD through its affiliation with DOCS Education has created a new 8-hour course* that fulfills the new one-time opioid course requirement for DEA registration. The course will cover a range of topics related to opioid prescribing and pain management required by the Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act, including the risks and benefits of opioids, safe pharmacological management of dental pain and screening, treating and management of patients with substance abuse disorders, patient counseling and education, and more. It is worth 8 CE.

Knowledge of the factors that cause complications and failure in fixed prosthodontics enhances our ability to develop effective treatment plans, facilitates success, promotes optimal doctor-patient communication regarding anticipated treatment outcomes, and provides early diagnosis of problems encountered during long-term maintenance.

Learn to identify the different clinical complications that can occur with dental implants in this comprehensive four-part course. Dr Charles Goodacre provides invaluable knowledge including surgical and mechanical complications, soft tissue and esthetic issues, as well as the factors affecting implant loss. Understand how to prevent, manage or minimize implant complications for more successful outcomes in restorative dentistry. It is worth 7 CE.

This course consists of 2 modules. You’ll earn 5 CE credits upon completion. The quest for optimal esthetics coupled with the increased strength of all-ceramic materials has led to a significant increase in the clinical use of all-ceramic crowns and fixed partial dentures. In this presentation, Dr. Goodacre will compare the two types of restorations – all-ceramic crowns or metal-ceramic crowns – based on the factors most important to dentists and their patients when determining which to use. He will also address the most common complications that occur with all-ceramic crowns and discuss ways to optimize their success. 5 CEU

This course consists of 2 modules. You’ll earn 7 CE credits upon completion. Learn the treatment guidelines for determining when to retain the endodontically-treated tooth and when to extract for dental implant placement. In this two-part course, Dr. Goodacre will also look at the important factors required for successful restoration when retaining the tooth.
