This one CE hour course will introduce you to the rapidly growing space of digital dentistry and implantology. The Essentials of Monitoring the Sedation Patient is designed for sedation team members in Missouri (minimum of 2) to meet the regulations to qualify for a moderate sedation site certificate. This course also meets the requirements for renewal of the site certificate as set by the Missouri Dental Board. Presented by Dr. Allan Schwartz, DDS, CRNA, and DOCS Education, this course will address the protocols and requirements for monitoring a dental patient undergoing sedation. Team Members will earn 15 CE credits. 

Neuromuscular-blocking drugs prohibit transmission of a neural signal at the neuromuscular junction, causing paralysis of the affected skeletal muscles. During this course, Allan Schwartz, DDS, CRNA reviews the anatomy of the neuromuscular junction and the mechanism of skeletal muscle activation (Train of Four or "TOF") for muscle movement. Dr. Schwartz also discusses steps for the use and monitoring of a neuromuscular paralytic (Succinylcholine) for the treatment of laryngospasm. It is worth 1.5 CE.
