Refresh your IV sedation training in your own office. DOCS Education's in-office training provides you with tailored instruction specific to your practice and your office. IV sedation is an effective, predictable and flexible mode of sedation that expands the number of medications you can use to make your patients more comfortable. You and your team will learn about novel agents, key drugs, equipment, emergency measures and other methods to assure patient safety and satisfaction. The course is offered in 1- or 2-day formats.

Laryngospasm is a sudden laryngeal and glottic contracture that makes it difficult for a patient to speak or breathe. During this 90-minute presentation, Allan Schwartz, DDS, CRNA and Sedation Consultant, will thoroughly review the anatomy of the airway and the protective mechanisms the human body has in place to safeguard the airway. After a triggering episode, the vocal cords can strongly spasm, and can partially or completely close off any efforts of inspiration and expiration. This course is worth 1.5 CE.

Roger Sanger, DDS, and Steve Yun, MD, an anesthesiologist, they will discuss the protocols for sedation monitoring in pediatric dentistry and share the standard of care devices to consider. Participants will learn about different routes and levels of sedation, how to choose the drugs and techniques that provide the widest margin of safety in pediatric sedation dentistry, and much more. This course is worth 1 CE hour.

The Essentials of Monitoring the Sedation Patient is designed for sedation team members in Missouri (minimum of 2) to meet the regulations to qualify for a moderate sedation site certificate. This course also meets the requirements for renewal of the site certificate as set by the Missouri Dental Board. Presented by Dr. Allan Schwartz, DDS, CRNA, and DOCS Education, this course will address the protocols and requirements for monitoring a dental patient undergoing sedation. Team Members will earn 15 CE credits.
