DOCS Education is pleased to announce that the Idaho State University Department of Dental Sciences is our newest educational affiliate, hosting the popular DOCS Education IV Certification Program.

ISU is highly respected as the sponsor of the Idaho Advanced General Dentistry Program, an advanced education in general dentistry residency. The University also offers the Idaho Dental Education Program in conjunction with Creighton University’s School of Dentistry, leading to a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

ISU joins the Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry in partnering with DOCS Education to provide a program that combines home study at your convenience with a single four-day clinical experience. Upon completion of the DOCS course, dentists will have the knowledge and clinical skills to satisfy the ADA’s latest national sedation guidelines and to apply for the necessary permits in 46 states and the District of Columbia.

The DOCS Education/ISU certificate program is the only one in the country that teaches proven and safe protocols that combine oral and IV sedatives.

“We are exceedingly honored that the faculty at ISU recognizes our IV Sedation Certification course for its value to their general practice residents, as well as dentists nationwide,” said DOCS Education President and CEO, Michael D. Silverman, DMD, DICOI, FICD.

Dr. Brian Crawford, program chair and associate professor at ISU’s Department of Dental Sciences, earlier this year was appointed by Idaho Governor Brad Little to the state’s Board of Dentistry. Dr. Crawford is a former president of the Idaho State Dental Association.

The DOCS Education IV Sedation Certification course is taught by a team of the nation’s most respected practitioners in the fields of dentistry, anesthesiology, emergency response, medicine, graduate education, and research.

Our instructors include Dr. Anthony S. Feck, Dean of the DOCS Education faculty; Dr. Leslie Fang, the John R. Gallagher III and Katherine A. Gallagher Endowed Chair in Clinical Excellence at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School; and Dr. Jerome P. Wellbrock, a veteran dentist who brings extensive experience in anesthesia, sedation and pain control.

“This could be the most important and productive class that you’ve ever taken” –  Dr. Michael D. Silverman

The DOCS Education/ISU certificate program is the only one in the country that teaches proven and safe protocols that combine oral and IV sedatives.

Increasingly, general dentists who provide oral sedation to their fearful and anxious patients are at risk of losing their ability to do so unless they obtain an IV sedation permit. Utah, the latest state to require the IV sedation training, will eliminate Class II and Class III sedation permits entirely early in 2020.

“This could be the most important and productive class that you’ve ever taken,” says Dr. Silverman.

Course graduates earn 90 CE participation credits from an AGD/PACE-approved provider, applicable toward a Fellowship and Masters in the AGD.

Dentists who are interested in learning more about the DOCS/ISU program are encouraged to contact any of our dedicated customer loyalty representatives at 855-227-6505. Please be advised that only a few spaces remain in 2019.
