Presented by DOCS Education with Dr. Anthony Feck and Dr. Carol Wilson, this comprehensive, N2O and oral sedation course will help the dental team maximize patient comfort and increase practice productivity. Three-Step Process:

Part 1:

Dental assistants and hygienists will complete 16 hours of online didactic training through DOCS Education, on their own schedule, at their home or office.  Students must pass the final quiz with a 75% or greater grade.

Part 2:

Once students have completed the didactic requirements and passed the quiz, they must contact the DOCS Regulatory team. We will produce a Nitrous Oxide Monitoring Application for the student to submit to the WV Board of Dentistry, along with a copy of their CE certificate and a copy of their current CPR card. The Board will issue a Certificate.

The application fee is $45.00 for hygienists or $23.00 for assistants.

Part 3:

Once the student receives their Nitrous Oxide Monitoring Certificate, if they want to become a Qualified Monitor for Class 2 sedation, they will need to submit a copy of that Certificate, a copy of their current CPR card, and the West Virginia Board of Dentistry Qualified Monitor Application to the Board. Our Regulatory team can provide additional details for this process.

The application fee is $45.00.

Important: The West Virginia Board of Dentistry has approved this course for the Qualified Monitor certificate. Please contact DOCS Education’s course advisors to learn more about other state’s regulations for team monitoring.
