Under Indiana State Board of Dentistry regulation, dental assistants and hygienists with one year of dental office experience can now administer nitrous oxide and oxygen sedation with training, experience, and course completion. This course will teach qualified DA/DH the techniques of N₂O administration, enabling them to maximize patient comfort and increase the practice’s productivity. It includes 3 hours of online didactic education and instructions for acquiring hands-on training under the supervision of a licensed dentist; no travel is required. This program complies with the Indiana State Board of Dentistry regulation (IC 25-13-1-10.7) and is offered through an affiliation with the AEGD Program in the Department of Dental Science, a CODA-accredited program, at Idaho State University.

 While medical emergencies are relatively rare in dentistry, statistics show that you will experience two or more incidents in your practice throughout your career. Therefore, being able to respond to such emergencies with knowledge and confidence is an essential skill for every dental professional. This licensure renewal training will be presented by two esteemed DOCS faculty members: Dr. Steve Yun, a board-certified M.D. and Dental Anesthesiologist in Southern California, and Dr. Jerry Wellbrock, a seasoned clinician with over 30 years of experience. It is worth 3 CE.
