Course Description:

Learn the protocols for anticoagulant therapies in sedation dentistry patients, as well as the new drugs on the market. Course Objectives:

Anticoagulant drug therapies (blood thinners) are prescribed for a variety of conditions in ASA III+ patients. Dr. Fang will discuss the commonly known coumadin, plus introduce the new oral anticoagulants (NOACs) and what to expect before treating these patients in your sedation dental practice.
Learn about coumadin concerns and its original commercial purpose.

  • Understand the INR indicators for anticoagulant patients.
  • Get to know the four NOACs on the market, including Pradaxa and Xarelto.
  • Compare the efficacy of the NOACs with coumadin.
