In this information-packed course presented by Dr. Steve Yun, MD, an anesthesiologist and medical consultant for DOCS Education, you’ll learn the significance of a comprehensive pre-sedation evaluation for optimal patient care and safety.

Dr. Yun will discuss the importance of reviewing the patient’s physical assessment and health history, as well as medical and behavioral disorders in case selection criteria. In accordance with the Michigan Administrative Code Section 338.11411, dental assistants or hygienists who have successfully completed a course in monitoring the administration of nitrous oxide analgesia can now monitor nitrous oxide and oxygen sedation with training, experience, and certification.  Dental Hygienists can complete an optional clinical portion to qualify for administration of nitrous oxide under direct supervision of a licensed dentist.
