This class fulfills 8 CE credit hours and completely updates and refreshes attendees on the pharmacology and proven DOCS Education oral sedation protocols that you must have to keep your patients safe. You will learn to safely manage sedation and non-sedation appointments of ASA III+ patients with asthma, diabetes, bleeding disorders, and more in this case-based, didactic program. Adult Oral Sedation Dentistry or current sedation permit is a prerequisite for this course.

IV sedation is an effective, predictable and flexible mode of sedation that expands the number of medications you can use to make your patients more comfortable. You and your team will learn about novel agents, key drugs, equipment, emergency measures and other methods to assure patient safety and satisfaction. The course is offered in 1- or 2-day formats.

Meharry Medical College in joint providership with the Washington AGD through its affiliation with DOCS Education has created a new 8-hour course* that fulfills the new one-time opioid course requirement for DEA registration. The course will cover a range of topics related to opioid prescribing and pain management required by the Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act, including the risks and benefits of opioids, safe pharmacological management of dental pain and screening, treating and management of patients with substance abuse disorders, patient counseling and education, and more. It is worth 8 CE.

This online course qualifies for 1.5 hour of CE credit that is automatically issued with a digital certificate upon completion.

In this information-packed course presented by Dr. Steve Yun, MD, an anesthesiologist and medical consultant for DOCS Education, you’ll learn the significance of a comprehensive pre-sedation evaluation for optimal patient care and safety.

Dr. Yun will discuss the importance of reviewing the patient’s physical assessment and health history, as well as medical and behavioral disorders in case selection criteria. He’ll share the guidelines and risk factors for accepting and treating sedation patients with respiratory factors, psychiatric conditions, hypertension, cardiac conditions, and more.
